Coulter Gets Some Softballs (Again) From Time's John Cloud
About a year ago, John Cloud did a puff piece on Coulter. Probably the biggest howler in the piece was Cloud's asssertion that "Coulter has a reputation for carelessness with facts, and if you Google the words "Ann Coulter lies," you will drown in results. But I didn't find many outright Coulter errors."
The problem was that my blog documenting how Coulter's book Slander was a fraud was one of the first sites to pop up in a Google search. So I quickly wrote this so that people who read the Time article would find out what a poor journalist Cloud is (as well as what a lying sack of crap Coulter is).
For some insights on what Coulter is really about, read Kathleen Reardon.

Name calling? The use of language is "name calling." Harpies and witches is what I think they are, which is why I used those words.
Oh, Ann. Didn't you write an entire book about the wrongness of name-calling, and how liberals invented it??
In fairness to Cloud, the softballs came in the form of not asking follow ups. He gets credit for identifying Coulter's inconsistencies, as in the above, and the bit about Cindy Sheehan's pysical appearance. Perhaps he felt her daft answers spoke for themselves.

good grief, criticizing ann coulter isn't calling for censorship. all this "liberals are for freedom of speech unless they disagree" stuff is nonsense. you know that conservatives do the same thing. are we so simple-minded that we can't see that BOTH sides use the same political tactics? obviously, if someone says something you disagree with or don't like, you're going to fire right back at them. it would, however, be nice if we could keep the debate civil, reasonable, and insightful.

There are, of course, many more "ad hominem" attacks in "Godless".
I created a partial, but extensive list of them in my review of the book:
Ann "hominem" Coulter - Some Godless notes.
